Stories from the Soul: Emerging Curator Exhibition is an innovative art exhibition designed to foster meaningful dialogue between artists of diverse backgrounds. Curated by OPAL Artist Resident Shanelle Harrison, this show will feature five invited artists whose works reflect personal narratives, cultural heritage, and unique life experiences. By showcasing a range of artistic perspectives, the exhibition will introduce new conversations and fresh viewpoints, enriching the Oak Park community’s cultural landscape.
One objective of this exhibition is to celebrate diversity and create a space for artists from different walks of life to share their voices and perspectives, highlight the richness of cultural and artistic diversity, encourage collaboration and dialogue between artists and the local community and inspire reflection and connection The curator has selected five artists from various backgrounds—representing different ethnicities, age groups, and artistic styles. Each artist will present a body of work, that tells a personal story, whether through painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, or other mediums. These stories may reflect the artists' cultural heritage, social issues, or deeply personal experiences, offering insight into their individual souls.
