Margaret Zwadlo
ARTIST STATEMENT
Margaret (Marge) Zwadlo began her early art experiences as a schoolgirl at Wicker Park elementary school in Chicago. She was often asked to provide depictions of everyday and traditional scenes.
She has taken many drawing and painting classes at Triton College and the Oak Part Art League's in-depth classes. She was a member of the West Suburban Artists Guild and received many awards for her watercolor and acrylic paintings. She has exhibited her works at the annual Garage Galleries in Forest Park, the Oak Park Art League, the West Suburban Artists Guild, Camille et Famille in Forest Park, and a solo exhibition at the Oak Park Housing Center.
Her floral works are greatly influenced by the works of Georgia O'Keefe and a variety of modern-day abstract painters. The freedom of expression of her watercolor and acrylic works are captured in her interpretations of familiar horticultural subjects to bring the viewer into her paintings for further investigation and enjoyment.
